Why Food Photography?

Every photographer has a style, but mine is shaped by more than just cameras and lenses — it’s shaped by kitchens, service, and years in hospitality.

I’ve been photographing professionally for over a decade, covering everything from NFL games to weddings to brand campaigns. Along the way, I worked on social media for restaurants and artists, and in commercial art departments focused on building consistent brand imagery. Post-production is another passion of mine — I’ve retouched for clients like Garmin and Planet Fitness, where precision and detail were everything.

My ultimate passion comes from my love for the culinary experience- and the folks behind the magic. While studying and honing my media work I was also working in restaurants- as so many artists do. I started back of house at 14 and have done nearly every job you can imagine since: host, line cook, even co-owning while working as a sous chef. The pace, the pressure, the craft — it shaped the way I see food and grew a love for hospitality.

That’s why food and beverage photography became such a natural calling. It isn’t just about lighting or angles — it’s about understanding flow, respecting the work of chefs, and knowing how to capture a plate in a way that feels true to the hands that created it. I think the people behind the plates deserved to be celebrated and I firmly believe restaurants deserve exceptional photos of their hard work. My style lives at the intersection of art direction and hospitality: clean, consistent, and crafted with the same care that goes into every dish.
